Clinch Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to oversee and strengthen our healthcare compliance program. This role is ideal for a registered nurse with healthcare experience who understands clinical operations and regulatory requirements and is passionate about doing things the right way—for patients, staff, and the organization.
Position Summary
The Compliance Officer is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the hospital’s compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements. This individual will work collaboratively with leadership, medical staff, and department managers to promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement. The officer is also responsible for maintaining DNV accreditation readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the hospital’s primary point of contact for compliance-related matters
Develop, implement, and maintain the hospital’s Compliance Program in accordance with regulatory standards
Conduct internal compliance audits and monitoring activities; track findings and corrective actions
Educate staff and providers on compliance requirements, policies, and best practices
Review and assist with the development of policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
Investigate reported compliance concerns, grievances, and potential violations
Coordinate compliance activities related to accreditation, surveys, and regulatory agencies
Provide routine compliance reports to hospital leadership and governing bodies
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations
Ensure that the hospital meets all standards for DNV accreditation.
Required:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (active and in good standing)
Healthcare experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Strong understanding of healthcare operations and patient care workflows
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
Preferred:
Prior experience in healthcare compliance, quality, risk management, or auditing
Knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation, EMTALA, HIPAA, and accreditation standards
Experience working with surveys, corrective action plans, or regulatory reporting
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
