SUMMARY
The Compliance Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating regulatory compliance initiatives across the organization. This role ensures the company remains compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain operations. While the primary focus is compliance, this position may also contribute to select corporate projects as assigned by the Director, Compliance.
REPORTING
Reports to the Senior Product Compliance Manager and works closely with Environmental Compliance, Sustainability (ESG), Legal, Information Technology (IT), Operations, and Engineering.
Essential Functions

Regulatory Change Management
- Monitor and assess emerging regulations, industry standards, and legal developments impacting manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Proactively initiate and manage compliance projects in response to regulatory changes and legal developments.
- Maintain a regulatory change tracker and ensure timely updates to internal stakeholders.
Project Leadership
- Lead cross-functional compliance projects from initiation through execution, including scoping, planning, resource allocation, and reporting.
- Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with Legal, Operations, Engineering, Product Technology, Quality, Information Technology (IT), Environmental, Health & Safety, and Sustainability (ESG) to ensure alignment.
- Support product certification and testing projects to ensure market readiness.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between Legal, Operations, Engineering, Product Technology, Quality, Information Technology (IT), Environmental, Health & Safety, Sustainability (ESG), and Marketing/Sales teams.
- Engage external testing labs, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies, as needed.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, track deliverables, and maintain stakeholder alignment.
Compliance Readiness
- Prepare the business for upcoming compliance deadlines through early planning, training and communication, stakeholder engagement, and execution.
- Facilitate training sessions and develop communication materials to ensure awareness and understanding of new requirements.
- Support internal audits and readiness assessments related to regulatory obligations.
Process Improvement & Implementation
- Identify opportunities to streamline compliance workflows and documentation.
- Implement new tools, databases, or tracking systems to improve compliance efficiency, reliability, and traceability.
- Assist with integrating compliance data into enterprise systems.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate project records, compliance documentation, and audit-ready files.
- Provide progress reports, risk assessments, and post-project evaluations to the Director, Compliance.
- Assists in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-saving initiatives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong project management skills, a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to implement effective compliance solutions.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory language and technical data.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong report writing skills and the ability to synthesize work products into executive summaries and/or briefs and reports, process analysis mapping and improvement experience.
- Attention driven and detail oriented in accomplishing work duties and tasks
- Technologically adept and proficient in use of Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including preparing reports and policies.
- A self-starter and comfortable in working in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Ability to consider the relative costs, benefits, and risks of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one(s) for the organization.
- Capable of seamlessly organizing and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exercises good judgement and demonstrates strong business acumen with an understanding of how to align compliance demands with business goals.
- Ethical in all actions and acts with civility when engaging with others and demonstrates respect for others workloads and challenges. Strength to raise and defend unfavorable positions and problems to appropriate level of the organization.
- Keen sense for identifying challenges and complex problems and understanding of the need to review related information to develop and evaluate options and proactively provide/implement solutions.
- Hybrid/Remote worker must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable remote workspace.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Computer Science, Compliance, Sustainability (ESG), Business, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental, Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, environmental, regulatory affairs, legal operations, or project management field(s) within industrial manufacturing or distribution.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects in manufacturing, distribution, or other regulated industries.
- Experience working with domestic and international product compliance standards.
- Strong understanding of product compliance requirements, testing, and certification processes.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Clear and persuasive communicator with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with project management tools is highly preferred.

- This is a desk-based job and will require the individual to remain seated for long periods of time and have the manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone, copier/scanner, and similar machines.
- Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.
- The individual must be able to walk through office and manufacturing facilities, inside and out, including walking on level and unleveled ground.
- Occasional travel may be required.
