Position Summary:

The Compliance Testing Analyst (the Analyst) is responsible for designing, building, and executing compliance testing and monitoring programs across Global Innovations Bank’s fintech and embedded banking partner relationships and payment operations. This is a hands-on role that involves developing SQL queries, maintaining BI dashboards, creating partner specific testing rules, and managing the full testing lifecycle-from design through reporting and remediation. The Analyst serves as the point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners for compliance testing matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Testing Deployment and Execution:
  • Design, deploy and maintain fintech and embedded banking partner compliance testing programs, including designing and implementing partner-specific testing requirements tailored to each relationship’s product set, risk profile, and applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and execute SQL queries for data extraction, population scoping, sample selection, and exception identification across transaction, customer, and alert datasets.
  • Implement and configure testing procedures within the bank’s platform(s), working directly with internal developers and technology teams as needed to ensure testing logic is correctly integrated and operating as intended.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of fintech and embedded banking partner compliance activities, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential control gaps through continuous data analysis.
  • Data Analysis and BI Reporting:

o Develop and maintain BI dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) that track testing metrics, exception rates, alert volumes, and control performance for reporting to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.

o Create and present testing reports to fintech and embedded banking partners, communicating results, exceptions, and required remediation actions clearly and professionally.

o Report testing metrics to senior management on a scheduled basis, providing data-supported analysis and trend context.

  • Exception Management and Remediation:

o Identify, document, and manage testing exceptions, coordinating with fintech and embedded banking partners and internal operations teams to drive issues to resolution and verify corrective actions are completed and effective.

o Maintain exception logs and remediation tracking, escalating unresolved or recurring issues to compliance management with supporting data and root cause analysis.

  • Partner and Stakeholder Engagement:

o Serve as the point of contact for fintech and embedded banking partners on compliance testing matters, including communicating testing requirements, reviewing results jointly, and managing remediation timelines.

o Collaborate with internal technology and product teams to validate data sources, confirm system logic, and ensure testing rules accurately reflect underlying business processes.

o Stay current on applicable regulatory developments relevant to the bank’s fintech and embedded banking program andadvise on how regulatory changes affect existing testing procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data analytics, finance, accounting, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in compliance testing, compliance monitoring, internal audit, or data analytics within a bank, money services business, or fintech. Demonstrated, hands-on SQL experience is required.
  • Knowledge and Skills:

o Proficiency in SQL with demonstrated ability to write queries for data extraction, population filtering, aggregation, and exception identification against relational databases.

o Experience with BI and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or equivalent), including building and maintaining dashboards for operational and management reporting.

o Working knowledge of BSA/AML regulatory requirements, transaction monitoring concepts, and KYC/CDD obligations as applied in a bank or fintech and embedded banking partner program context.

o Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent designation preferred. Familiarity with Python or similar scripting tools for data processing is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly during phone or web-based meetings.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and general movement throughout the workplace
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Sufficient vision to perform close work, view screens, and focus at varying distances.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderately noisy.
