Job Summary
Performs corrosion control, surface treatment, and aircraft painting activities. Carries out paint removal, application of coatings, corrosion prevention and treatment, and finishing tasks on aircraft, equipment, and related aerospace components in accordance with approved procedures and standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out corrosion control and surface treatment activities including inspection, preparation, removal of corrosion, and application of protective coatings
- Perform paint removal, surface preparation, masking, painting, and finishing works on aircraft and components
- Identify and assess corrosion damage and apply approved treatment methods to restore affected areas within required standards and timeframes
- Record and document all corrosion findings and completed repair actions in maintenance logs and records accurately
- Select and use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to restore metal surfaces to required condition, minimizing rework
- Mix, thin, blend, match, and apply coating materials to achieve required color, texture, and thickness standards
- Support maintenance tasks related to modifications, upgrades, and repairs of aircraft systems and components
- Follow established maintenance procedures, technical instructions, and safety guidelines during all activities
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety procedures, reporting any unsafe conditions or practices immediately
- Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities including servicing, inspections, and component level repairs
- Follow technical instructions, manuals, and checklists while handling materials, tools, and hazardous substances safely
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and availability of tools, equipment, and materials required for corrosion control activities
- Monitor availability of supplies and report shortages or equipment issues to ensure continuous workflow
- Ensure work areas are maintained clean, organized, and free from Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
- Maintain awareness of emergency response procedures and ensure readiness of equipment and materials when required
- Ensure all coatings and surface treatments meet required quality standards including finish, thickness, and uniformity
- Carry out any additional maintenance duties as assigned by the maintenance or production management team
Requirements
- Technical diploma or equivalent in a relevant field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in paint application or industrial coatings, preferably within aviation
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and quality standards
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
