Composer (Book Composing, Maths & Graphic Designing)

We are an educational publishing and content development organisation, committed to producing high-quality learning materials. As part of our growing team, we are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Book Composer to support the design, formatting, and preparation of books for publication.

Key Responsibilities

• Compose, design, and format books (educational and non-educational) using industry-standard publishing software.
• Ensure consistency in layout, typography, spacing, and style across all book sections.
• Integrate illustrations, graphics, and tables into manuscripts.
• Collaborate with authors, editors, and designers to meet project specifications.
• Prepare final files for print and digital distribution.
• Maintain accuracy in page numbering, cross-referencing, headers/footers, and indexing.
• Troubleshoot formatting or technical issues during the publishing process.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Book Composer, Typesetter, or Desktop Publishing Specialist.
• Proficiency with publishing software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Coral Draw, QuarkXPress, LaTeX, or equivalent.
• Strong eye for design, typography, and layout consistency.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of printing standards and digital publishing formats (PDF, EPUB, MOBI).
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
