Compounding Pharmacist in Charge

Custom Medicine Pharmacenter is an independent non-sterile compounding-only pharmacy serving the Boston and North Shore area since 2004. We are currently looking for a compassionate, patient-oriented pharmacist to become part of our team. Our compounding pharmacist in charge will not only manage pharmacy operations, but will also oversee compounding lab practice, as well as participate in customer service and clinical consulting to optimize therapy. We currently have a full-time lead position in our compounding pharmacy available for the right person. Normal hours of operations are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm.

No nights. No weekends. Limited holidays.

Duties

· Preparation of non-hazardous and hazardous compounded prescription medications in accordance with all applicable USP guidelines and State regulations

· Oversight of compounding prescription medications in accordance with all applicable USP guidelines and State regulations

· Receive, process, and dispense prescriptions as well as counsel patients on proper use and side effects in accordance with all applicable USP guidelines and State regulations

· Provide therapy consultation, in person and over the phone, to patients using alternative dosage forms, offer advice about non-Rx co-therapies and nutritional supplements

· Provide educational and supportive services to providers in the therapeutic use, prescribing process, and therapy management of compounded drug treatment

· Oversee technicians in preparation and handling of prescription products

· Maintain a clean and organized workspace in a positive and collegial work environment

· Assist in maintaining and procuring compounding department drug inventory, equipment, packaging materials and supplies

· Maintain a high standard of accuracy and professionalism in a time efficient manner

· Accurately operate pharmacy computer systems and cash register

Requirements

· PharmD or BS in pharmacy

· Active MA pharmacist license in good standing

· Compounding knowledge preferred, but willing to train motivated, self-starters

· Previous pharmacy management experience preferred, but not required

· Strong commitment to patient care

· Positive, outgoing personality and ability to work as an integral team member

· Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with others

· Ability to communicate with and educate prescribers on compounded prescription therapies

· Ability to stand for duration of shift, lift 20 lbs, and climb a stepladder

· Dexterity and proficiency to efficiently process and check prescriptions and compound prescription products

· Ability to multi-task and transition seamlessly from duties

· Fragrance-free/smoke-free facility.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
