Responsibilities
- Prepare compounded medications accurately according to prescriptions, including topical, oral, and injectable formulations.
- Assist pharmacists in medication intake processes by verifying prescriptions and ensuring all patient information is correctly documented.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during sterile compounding procedures to prevent contamination.
- Support critical care and hospital teams by preparing IV infusions and other specialized medications for acute patient needs.
- Ensure proper medication storage, labeling, and inventory management in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Participate in medication administration support activities by preparing medications for delivery to nursing staff or directly to patients when applicable.
- Document all compounding activities meticulously, including batch records, quality control checks, and incident reports as necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with a focus on LTC pharmacy or hospital settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
- Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and sterile compounding for IV infusions.
- Critical care experience preferred, with familiarity in acute care environments requiring precise medication preparation.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety.
- Ability to handle intake processes efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.50 per hour
