Compounding Pharmacy Technician

About the Role

Innovative Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compounding Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to grow within a supportive, team-focused environment.

As a Compounding Technician, you will work alongside experienced pharmacists and technicians to prepare customized medications for both human and veterinary patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop specialized skills while contributing to exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review daily order lists and organize compounding workflow
  • Prepare compounded medications including creams, liquids, powders, and emulsions
  • Accurately follow proprietary formulations and compounding procedures
  • Generate and review formula logs, labels, and worksheets using pharmacy systems
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and pharmaceutical presentation (“pharmaceutical elegance”)
  • Maintain and manage inventory, including reordering supplies as needed
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and workspace according to established protocols
  • Inspect materials for expiration and ensure proper storage and handling
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines (MSDS)
  • Adhere to USP <795> and <800> standards
  • Use proper garbing and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Prepare completed products for pharmacist verification

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience (required)
  • Pharmacy Technician License (preferred)

Strong understanding of:

  • Basic pharmacy calculations
  • Medical terminology
  • Compounding principles and procedures
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions with precision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE (mask, gloves, gown, hair net, goggles, etc.)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Edmond, OK

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
