Duties
- Prepare compounded medications following detailed prescriptions, including creams, ointments, suspensions, and IV infusions for diverse patient populations.
- Maintain meticulous records of all compounding activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and pharmacy protocols.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile products using aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Manage medication intake processes by accurately receiving prescriptions, verifying patient information, and documenting all transactions.
- Support patient service efforts by providing clear instructions on medication administration and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism and care.
- Ensure proper inventory management of pharmaceutical ingredients and supplies used in compounding processes.
- Follow infection control procedures rigorously during compounding and medication preparation to uphold the highest safety standards.
Experience
- Previous compounding pharmacy technician experience is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and IV infusion techniques is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile compounding practices ensures compliance with safety standards.
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care, intake procedures, and clear communication are vital.
