Job Title: Part-Time In-Person CompTIA A+ Tutor

Location: Waukesha, WI (in-person sessions)

Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient tutor to work in person with an adult learner completing online CompTIA A+ certification training course. The tutor will provide hands-on guidance, reinforce key IT concepts, and help build confidence with real-world skills.

This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring sessions
• Support completion of CompTIA A+ coursework and practice exams
• Reinforce core IT concepts including:
• Computer hardware and peripherals
• Operating systems (Windows, basic Linux/Mac)
• Networking fundamentals
• Troubleshooting techniques
• Basic cybersecurity concepts
• Assist with navigating online training modules
• Break down technical concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations
• Provide hands-on practice when possible (devices, troubleshooting scenarios)
• Help develop study habits and test-taking strategies
• Monitor progress and adjust support as needed

Qualifications

• Familiarity with CompTIA A+ certification content (required)
• Prior tutoring, teaching, or coaching experience preferred
• Strong ability to explain technical material in plain language
• Patience and experience working with adult learners
• Basic IT support knowledge (help desk, troubleshooting, device setup)
• CompTIA A+ certification or related coursework preferred

Schedule & Commitment

• 2 sessions per week (1 hour per session)
• Flexible scheduling (afternoons, evenings, or weekends)
• Duration: Approximately 8–12 weeks (flexible based on progress)

Compensation

• $25/hour

• Comfortable providing hands-on, step-by-step instruction
• Encouraging and patient, with a focus on building confidence
