Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support product engineering efforts by creating and modifying 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining engineering data integrity and ensuring proper configuration control across a variety of mechanical product lines. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CAD software, a solid understanding of drafting standards, and the ability to collaborate within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Create 3D models and 2D drawings based on measurements, sketches, existing drawings, and laser scan data

Process engineering change requests using CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Apply ASME Y14.5 standards, including GD&T, to develop and revise technical drawings

Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), including part numbers, revisions, and release data

Develop and complete technical specification documentation for internal and external use

Support engineering change management processes to ensure configuration control and data accuracy

Provide technical support to manufacturing and cross-functional teams to resolve product-related issues

Assist in the design, development, and launch of product improvements in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements

Support certification activities, including testing and documentation for regulated products

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drafting standards, including GD&T

Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment

Understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, stamping, molding, etc.)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)

Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced experience with SolidWorks

Experience working with regulated products or within highly controlled industries (e.g., aerospace, aviation, etc.)

Familiarity with certification processes and testing standards
