SUMMARY
The Computer Repair Technician is responsible for the general repair and maintenance of district computer hardware and related software. This includes installing, modifying, cleaning, and troubleshooting of district computer assets. Works collaboratively as a member of the district technology team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties may be assigned.
· Unbox, tag, and set up new devices.
· Install and configure software and drivers.
· Relocate computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
· Diagnose and repair mobile and desktop computers as well as peripheral devices.
· Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
· Perform regular device upgrades to ensure systems remain updated.
· Monitor and respond quickly to assigned technology tickets in accordance with the district technology Service Level Agreement.
· Coordinates with other technology staff to procure computer parts for the purpose of ensuring availability of items needed to repair hardware.
· Determine solutions based on the issue and details provided.
· Elevate high priority or unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
· Provide accurate information on technology assets and services.
· Record events, communications, and problems and their resolutions in the district ticket and asset management systems.
· Follow-up and update ticket and asset record status and information.
· Pass on any feedback or suggestions to the appropriate internal team.
· Identify possible improvements on district procedures.
· Support the accurate recording and tracking of inventory assets in the support pipeline.
· Maintain highest standards for network, user, and physical inventory security.
· Maintain a clean and organized technology repair center.
· Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
· Unload and organize shipments to the technology repair center.
· Prepare assets for shipping to vendors for repair/replacement.
· Serve as a productive member of the technology team to complete projects and work orders efficiently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Driver’s License required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Highly motivated. Self-starter. Willing to learn/master new methods/processes/applications. Willing to work a flexible schedule. Ability to operate personal computers. Use of arms and hands for finger dexterity for operating such equipment. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to organize and follow through. Ability to deal with confidential matters. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; such as printers, computers, servers, UPS’s. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to withstand long-term use of Video Display Terminals is required. The employee is regularly required to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and occasionally interact with the public and staff in addition to meeting multiple demands from several people.

Pay: $18.41 - $25.48 per hour
