Overview
Seeds Academy is a STEM+Arts learning center based in Temple City, offering hands-on programs in computer science and robotics for students ages 6–18. Our courses include Scratch, Python, robotics engineering, LEGO robotics, micro:bit, and VEX competition robotics.
Responsibilities
- Teach hands-on coding classes in Scratch and Python for elementary and middle school students.
- Guide younger students in learning programming through creative, project-based Scratch lessons.
- Help middle school students transition from visual coding to text-based programming using Python.
- Build students’ understanding of logic, problem-solving, debugging, and core computer science concepts.
- Support advanced learners with foundational data structures and algorithms concepts.
- Encourage creativity, independence, and strong coding habits through games, projects, and coding challenges.
- Adapt instruction to different ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment.
Requirements
- Experience teaching or working with children in coding, tutoring, mentoring, or classroom settings.
- Ability to teach both Scratch and Python effectively to different age groups.
- Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, especially data structures and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python required.
- Experience with Java or C++ is a strong plus.
- Patient, energetic, organized, and comfortable managing groups of elementary and middle school students.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for STEM education.
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
