Role Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable STEAM / Computer Science Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), with a particular focus on computer science. Experience working within the IB curriculum framework is preferred. This role involves designing and delivering engaging, hands-on, inquiry-led learning experiences that inspire students to explore, create, and innovate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging STEAM and computer science lessons for children and adults.
- Design and facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences involving coding, electronics, and physical computing.
- Integrate EdTech tools, microcontrollers, robotics kits, and emerging technologies into the curriculum.
- Foster an inclusive, creative, and supportive learning environment.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with educators and team members on interdisciplinary projects and programmes.
- Stay informed about developments in STEAM education, electronics, and educational technology.
- Plan and facilitate workshops, camps, and special STEAM-related events.
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and the wider community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification is an advantage.
- Experience with the IB curriculum is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, ideally in a STEAM, makerspace, or innovation-focused environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Scratch.
- Experience working with microcontrollers (e.g. Arduino, micro:bit, ESP32), basic electronics, sensors, and hardware components.
- Strong understanding of STEAM principles, inquiry-based learning, and physical computing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for education and inspiring learners of all ages.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with 3D printing, CAD software, and makerspace technologies.
- Knowledge of physical computing, circuits, and prototyping.
- Ability to design interdisciplinary projects that integrate software, hardware, and creative design.
- Familiarity with robotics kits and automation concepts.
