The Primary Computer Teacher is responsible for introducing young learners to basic computer skills, digital literacy, and logical thinking in alignment with the ICSE curriculum. The role focuses on making technology learning fun, safe, and age-appropriate while fostering curiosity and confidence in using computers.
Key Responsibilities

Teach computer studies to primary classes as per ICSE guidelines

Introduce basic concepts such as:

Parts of a computer

Keyboard and mouse skills

Basic applications (Paint, Word, simple presentations)

Introduction to coding/logic etc., if applicable)

Plan engaging, activity-based lessons suitable for young learners

Use audio-visual tools, educational software, and smart classroom resources

Ensure safe and responsible use of technology

Assess students through worksheets, practical work, and simple projects

Maintain lesson plans, records, and student progress reports

Support school events, exhibitions, and digital activities

Coordinate with class teachers and parents when required

Maintain computer lab discipline and basic care of equipment
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT / BCA or equivalent

B.Ed or D.El.Ed preferred (mandatory as per school norms, if applicable)

Knowledge of ICSE curriculum and assessment methods is an advantage
