<Job Summary>
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the delivery of concrete to customer job sites. This role communicates with customers, batchers, drivers, and other internal departments and locations to ensure efficient delivery of concrete. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a knack for problem solving in an ever-evolving environment.

<Duties>

1. Customer Interaction

  • Receive incoming phone calls for this location and disperse out to the appropriate parties or communicate to the caller for your set of responsibilities
  • Communicate with customers to take orders for concrete, including advising the customer of price, products and schedule.
  • Enter customer orders into the dispatch system and modify existing orders if customers require
  • Take payment information and process payments for non-account customers
  • Proactive communication with customers if unforeseen issues arise

2. Dispatching

  • Daily scheduling and dispatching of a fleet of concrete mixers to satisfy customer needs
  • Responsible for on time deliveries, order accuracy, and efficiency of delivery
  • Continuously updating load times, drivers’ routes and instructions based on changing real world conditions
  • Proactively communicating with surrounding dispatchers to satisfy customer needs while the daily schedule evolves

3. Coordination

  • Daily administrative work including collecting and processing payments and organization of records
  • Communicating with disbatch, QC staff and management to coordinate needs and solutions
  • Communicating with maintenance staff to schedule plant or truck downtime to participate in a successful preventative maintenance schedule.

4. General

  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with all involved parties
  • Assist with problem solving related to delivery, orders and scheduling
  • Perform additional related duties as business needs change or technology evolves

<Skills>

  • Preferred -Prior relevant work experience with respect truck dispatching for the construction industry.
  • High School diploma with strength in math, computer literacy and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a busy, active environment with competing priorities
  • Strong communication and customer services skills
  • Reliable and willing to work early hours as common starting times are 6am
  • Knowledge of the surrounding towns for use in scheduling and directions

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
