Concrete Estimator

Overview:

Red Star Construction is seeking a full time Concrete Estimator. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in concrete construction with a solid trade knowledge in commercial, municipal and industrial concrete, be organized, motivated and detail oriented.

Job Description:

The Concrete Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documents provided by customers. The ability to read, understand, and critique blueprints for the production of take-offs and material lists is crucial. To support our customers in reaching their deadlines and milestones, the Estimator should work with their teams to help ensure all parties have the information required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity and material takeoffs using takeoff program.
• Understand and price principles such as material cost, job durations, crew rates, concrete mix designs, rebar takeoffs, formwork systems, etc.
• Understanding of safety standards as they relate to production rates and pricing.
• Ability to comprehend schedules and determining sequencing of work as they relate to production and pricing.
• Communicating well with customers and management in connection with bids and change orders.
• May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of estimating experience within the concrete industry.
• Must possess proven written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with computer applications including Planswift or similar take off programs, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
• Must be well organized and be able to self-manage.
• Ability to multitask between various responsibilities
• Ability to be timely and perform to deadlines.
• Displays interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
