Concrete Finisher

Job Overview
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finishers to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces to meet project specifications and quality standards. Your expertise will help transform raw concrete into durable, visually appealing structures that stand the test of time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial developments to renovation and restoration sites, utilizing your skills in concrete finishing and related trades.

Duties

• Apply finishing techniques to freshly poured concrete, including troweling, floating, and edging to achieve smooth surfaces and desired textures.
• Install rebar and metal mesh reinforcement according to blueprints and schematics to ensure structural integrity.
• Operate power tools such as concrete mixers, pumps, screeds, and hand tools for precise application and finishing of concrete surfaces.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project requirements accurately.
• Prepare formwork for various concrete structures.
• Perform heavy lifting and manual labor required for positioning forms, materials, and equipment safely on-site.
• Conduct quality inspections during the finishing process to ensure adherence to safety standards, specifications, and aesthetic expectations.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment operation (including heavy machinery), and safety procedures on construction sites.
• Expertise in concrete forming, pouring, finishing techniques.
• Experience with rebar installation.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision for accurate project execution.
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes and ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and team members.

Form, place, finish concrete flatwork

Commercial and residential flatwork, Non-union

Heavy lifting, manual labor, hours vary, typically 20-80 hours per week in busy season

Job duties include, but not limited to:

Form slabs, driveways, sidewalks, light walls

Install, tie rebar

Rake, shovel, pick, or other

Hand screed, or vibratory screed flatwork

Finish concrete, edge, mag, float, steel, broom, stamp, or exposed

Saw cut, operate finish trowel, walking, or riding

Strip, clean up forms and all other debris from job site each day

Ensure trucks are loaded safely to travel each day

Pull trailers if need be with machines on trailer

Full time position with various hours during winter, may be considered more part time in inclement weather

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 80 per week
