Job Summary:
The Concrete Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all machinery and equipment at various concrete production locations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Essential Functions:

Perform routine inspections: Check plant equipment and systems for wear, malfunctions, or other issues that could cause a breakdown.

Conduct preventative maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks on plant, conveyor, mixer and loader to minimize unexpected downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Troubleshoot and repair: Fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic problems in a timely manner.

Perform welding and fabrication: Use welding skills to repair structures and equipment.

Collaborate with management: Work with plant managers to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe work environment.

Maintain records: Keep detailed logs of all maintenance performed, including repairs, parts used, and time spent.

Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.

Have an understanding of PLC systems.

Have experience in operating front-end loader, forklift, skid loader, man lift & other equipment used in maintenance procedures.

Understand and follow proper lockout/tag out procedures.

Perform building maintenance if needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Knowledge and experience in maintenance of equipment, such as air compressors, mixers, vibrators, conveyors, motors, and other miscellaneous equipment

Work schedule can be flexible and may include overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts, especially when emergency repairs are needed

Work well under pressure

Valid Driver's License required

Ability to read and understand blueprints/schematics

Perform other tasks as needed
Competencies or Experience Requirements:

Experience in the Ready-Mix industry preferred

Experience with electrical service up to 480V

Experience with metal fabrication

Familiarity with safety procedures and industry regulations

Ability to communicate effectively and present facts and recommendations in oral and written form

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a team environment
Physical/Mental Requirements:
-
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate.
-
This position requires bending, stooping, crouching and crawling at times.
-
This role also involves physical labor, including standing for long periods, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling and lifting heavy equipment.

The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds.

Will require working with heights on equipment and in man baskets.

Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and managers.

Effective conflict resolution abilities.

Ability to read, write and do basic math.

Must be self-motivated with the ability to complete multiple projects a day while doing quality work.
Working Conditions:
Consists of working on-site at concrete plants outdoors. On-site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery, and exposure to elements such as dust, noise, changes in temperature, and weather.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates degree or vocational certificate in industrial maintenance is preferred. A basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, cutting/welding, mechanicals and other ready- mix related components. A valid CDL is preferred, but not required.
Safety:
Required safety equipment will be issued, and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
Travel:
Travel to job sites is required as needed.
