Concrete Precast Laborer

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and dependable individual to join our Concrete Precast team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, with the ability to safely perform manual labor in the production of precast concrete curb tops. The position involves a range of tasks, including using hand tools, handling concrete, reinforcing and assembling forms, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Precast Production Tasks:
• Strip prior pours and reset forms for new projects.
• Reset the forms.
• Add reinforcing materials and lift cables to forms as needed.
• Pour concrete into forms to create curb tops.
• Finish curb tops by using basic hand tools such as a margin trowel, steel trowel, mag float, and broom for finishing.
• Pull cores and disassemble the core once the curb tops are formed.
• Material Handling:
• Lift and move materials, including concrete, tools, and reinforcing elements, with proper techniques.
• Cut and tie rebar, wire cages, and cables using hand tools.
• Use shovels or trowels to move concrete and ensure smooth, level finishes.
• Physical & Safety Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs safely.
• Perform tasks in hot, humid, and sometimes dusty or noisy work environments.
• General Maintenance & Housekeeping:
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for.
• Follow all safety protocols and instructions from supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and basic shop drawings.
• Experience or willingness to learn how to use hand tools (e.g., hammer, margin trowel, pigtail, bar tie twisters).
• Willingness to be taught and learn new skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks within specified timeframes.
• Previous experience in a precast concrete environment is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with shop drawings and basic construction plans is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, standing, and working with heavy materials.
• Comfortable working outdoors, under a roof, and/or in hot/cold, humid conditions.

Job Type: Full-time
