Concrete Structural Draftsman

Rawafid is seeking a skilled Concrete Structural Draftsman to join our talented engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed structural drawings and models for concrete structures, including foundations, slabs, beams, and columns. Your expertise in drafting and design will ensure that our projects meet all safety standards and quality requirements. You will work closely with structural engineers and project managers to transform design concepts into actionable technical documentation, using advanced drafting software to produce high-quality deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings, including foundations, slabs, columns, beams, retaining walls, water tanks, pipe supports, and general arrangement plans based on design inputs and sketches from engineers.
  • Produce reinforcement detailing (RC detailing), bar bending schedules (BBS), and structural steel detailing in accordance with project specifications.
  • Develop shop drawings and as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions and modifications.
  • Coordinate with civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure that drawings are properly integrated and free of clashes.
  • Incorporate revisions and comments from design engineers, consultants, and clients accurately and promptly.
  • Attend coordination meetings to resolve drawing conflicts and maintain consistency across project deliverables.
  • Maintain a systematic record of all drawings, revisions, and transmittals using approved document control systems (e.g., ACC Docs, BIM 360, or SharePoint).
  • Ensure all drawings follow company CAD/BIM standards, including title blocks, layering, line types, and naming conventions.
  • Prepare drawing issue logs, transmittals, and revision registers for internal and client submissions.
  • Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant international and local codes (e.g., ACI, BS, ASTM, SBC, or project-specific standards).
  • Perform self-checks and QA reviews on drawings prior to submission to maintain accuracy and reduce rework.
  • Apply standard drawing templates and blocks to maintain visual consistency and professional presentation.
  • Assist engineers with quantity take-offs, sectional details, and design clarifications as required.
  • Provide site teams with updated drawings, mark-ups, and clarifications to support construction progress.
  • Update as-built drawings based on red-marked field changes or consultant instructions.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, and familiar with Revit Structure / Civil 3D / Navisworks for 3D modeling and coordination.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering sketches, design notes, and structural calculations to prepare accurate drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of file management, plotting, and digital collaboration tools (e.g., ACC Docs, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Follow HSSE protocols while working on site or within the office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of project data, drawings, and proprietary designs.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Drafting Technology.
  • 7 - 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant drafting software.
  • Strong understanding of concrete design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to create precise engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering plans accurately.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
