Position: Condition Monitoring Engineer – MCSA, Vibration & Motion Amplification

Location: Bahrain


Job Overview:

The Condition Monitoring Engineer is responsible for delivering advanced predictive maintenance and asset reliability services using Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) , Vibration Analysis , and Motion Amplification technologies. The role focuses on early fault detection, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvement of rotating and electromechanical assets across industrial facilities.


Key Responsibilities

Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA)

  • Perform online and offline Motor Current Signature Analysis on AC/DC motors, generators, and driven equipment
  • Identify electrical and mechanical faults including:
  • Broken rotor bars
  • Air-gap eccentricity
  • Stator winding defects
  • Load-related abnormalities
  • Coupling and belt issues
  • Analyze current, voltage, torque, and power spectra
  • Correlate MCSA findings with vibration, process, and operational data
  • Prepare detailed diagnostic reports including fault severity and corrective recommendations


Vibration Analysis

  • Collect vibration data using portable and online condition monitoring systems
  • Analyze vibration signals using FFT, time waveform, enveloping, phase analysis, and orbit plots
  • Diagnose machinery faults such as:
  • Unbalance, misalignment, and looseness
  • Rolling element bearing defects
  • Gearbox and transmission faults
  • Resonance and structural vibration issues
  • Execute route-based and continuous condition monitoring programs
  • Trend vibration data to assess equipment condition and estimate remaining useful life (RUL)


Motion Amplification

  • Conduct Motion Amplification inspections using video-based vibration analysis tools
  • Identify visually amplified motion related to:
  • Structural resonance
  • Soft foot and mechanical looseness
  • Base, foundation, and frame defects
  • Piping and structural vibration
  • Integrate motion amplification findings with vibration and MCSA results
  • Produce visual reports and amplified motion videos for engineering, operations, and management teams


Reporting & Reliability Support

  • Generate clear, accurate, and actionable condition monitoring reports
  • Provide maintenance recommendations and corrective action plans
  • Support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) activities
  • Collaborate with maintenance, reliability, and operations teams
  • Assist in developing and optimizing predictive maintenance strategies and KPIs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Industrial Engineering
  • or equivalent technical experience


Certifications (Preferred – GCC Standard)

  • Vibration Analysis Certification (ISO Category I / II / III)
  • Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) Certification (SKF, Emerson, or equivalent)
  • Motion Amplification Training (RDI Technologies or equivalent)
  • Reliability or Condition Monitoring certifications (advantage)


Experience

  • Minimum 3–8+ years of experience in condition monitoring or reliability engineering
  • Proven hands-on experience with:
  • Rotating machinery (motors, pumps, fans, compressors, gearboxes)
  • Electrical motor diagnostics
  • Industrial experience within GCC sectors such as:
  • Oil & Gas
  • Power & Utilities
  • Manufacturing
  • Mining, Cement, or Petrochemicals (preferred)


Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in vibration analysis software and data collectors
  • Experience with MCSA tools and analyzers
  • Knowledge of motion amplification systems and high-speed cameras
  • Familiarity with CMMS and asset management systems
  • Strong understanding of signal processing fundamentals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical reporting tools


Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent technical reporting and presentation abilities
  • High safety awareness and field readiness
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams


Work Environment

  • Field-based role with inspections at industrial and operational sites
  • Exposure to rotating machinery, electrical systems, and industrial environments
  • Willingness to travel within Bahrain and other GCC countries as required
  • Compliance with company HSE policies and GCC site safety regulations


Employment & Compliance (GCC Standard)

  • Valid passport with eligibility to obtain Bahrain / GCC work visa
  • Medical fitness as per local labor regulations
  • Employment subject to local labor law and company policies
