The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for the position of Confidential Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools. This is a full time 12-month position includes a regionally competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
Typical Work Activities
- Maintain the Superintendent’s calendar, schedules appointments and meetings, and coordinates logistics with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage, process, and protect highly sensitive and confidential communications for the Superintendent's office
- Make high-level decisions regarding the routing and prioritization of a large volume of correspondence from local, state, and federal agencies
- Draft, format, and finalize official correspondence and documentation for the Superintendent’s signature
- Serve as the initial point of contact for the Superintendent’s Office, thoughtfully analyzing and responding to inquiries from the community, district personnel, and neighboring school districts
- Receive, document, and tactfully resolve constituency complaints, ensuring community concerns are handled with professionalism
- Maintain secure, comprehensive, and organized files pertaining to personnel, budgets, and Board of Education proposals
- Assist in the compilation and preparation of comprehensive reports, statistical data, and other assignments as directed by the Superintendent
- Attend various staff and/or committee meetings to accurately record and distribute information
- Support the Superintendent in the planning and execution of District events.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear correspondence and reports from general instructions

- A collaborative mindset with the proven ability to build successful relationships and communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including staff, parents, students, Board members, elected officials, and community partners

- Highly organized and meticulous, with the ability to successfully execute complex oral and written directives
- Strong understanding of current computer technology, including proficiency in office software, including Google Workplace and Microsoft Office
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or possession of equivalency diploma
- Two (2) or more years of relevant experience in a school district, government, public agency or professional office setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in a school district, government, public agency or professional office setting

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
