Configuration Management Jr Engineer

Description:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Technical and Program Baseline Configurations and their related documentation within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Enter and record data supporting parts, drawings, CAD, and other configuration management artifacts into the CMDB system and release the information to the program engineers for their review and concurrence for release.
  • Maintain records for IT equipment and software licenses and accurately track in CMDB across various site locations. Track pedigree case and Return Material Authorization (RMA) numbers.
  • Trace transportation of IT hardware and software between storage locations as required
  • Track and manage product artifacts, hardware/software and code repositories and GFI, GFE, GOTS, and COTS ensuring proper versioning, storage, and documentation in SharePoint (SP), Property Tracking Databases, or similar systems.
  • Support software release processes and deployment pipelines.
  • Set up workflows and manage review and approval of data item deliverables on prime contractor Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
  • Provide input for development of CDRLs on new contracts and task orders
  • Receive, track, and manage contractor CDRLS, DALs, build packages, and release of products, ensuring that they are consistent with established baselines and meet requirements
  • Coordinate with prime contractor data managers to facilitate compliance with CDRL requirements and utilization of associated database/software tools
  • Assist program office personnel with CDRL database/program access and technical support.
  • Report status of CDRL deliveries and reviews to Government branch lead/system program manager, and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR)
  • Continuously monitor system/product configurations, perform regular audits, and provide required periodic status reports to verify the status and compliance of configurations.
  • Receive and manage physical and electronic inventories
  • Conduct physical and electronic audits and generate audit reports on physical and electronic baselines. Generate and maintain comprehensive Baseline Repository Documentation, including configuration status accounting, and generate Physical and functional audit reports on physical and electronic baselines
  • Maintain the documentation, tracking, and control of hardware and software configurations throughout their lifecycle to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance
  • Assist with technical certification activities, reviewing engineering artefacts, data packages, and compliance against Defense configuration policies.
  • Meet yearly and as required periodic physical inventory goals and site expectations along with on-time reporting and corrective actions if necessary
  • Coordinate and track approvals of changes to system configurations, ensuring that modifications are documented and authorized via CCB.
  • Coordinate classified CCBs including scheduling, documenting meeting notes, tracking approvals, and tracking actions to closure.
  • Work with development, testers, product managers, operations, project, mission leads, contracting officer's representatives (CORs), internal teams and external contract teams to ensure proper implementation and adherence to configuration management practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sustainment, logistics, and field support teams as well as OEM/Prime contractors to maintain data integrity and support system upgrades and to ensure data consistency and readiness for operational deployment.
Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to top secret classified information. An active top secret level security clearance is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience; in lieu of formal education, at least 9 years of overall progressive experience in a related field (with 4 years being specialized Military experience in the related field which can be substituted for a formal degree).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Configuration Management certification
  • Demonstrated experience with CM, Source Code and Artifact Repository Management and Web based collaboration tools such as TopVue, ERP, SharePoint, Asset Management tracking systems (e.g., eQuip).Equip, DPAS, Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps). TeamCentre (JIRA and Confluence experience desirable).
  • Experience or understanding of property inventory management for government-furnished equipment in accordance with federal regulations.
  • Experience ensuring compliance to FAR Government Property standards & clauses; and supporting Government/DCMA and Customer On-Site & Limited Surveys.
