Constituent Relations Assistant Director & Executive Assistant
Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy is seeking a dedicated and proactive Constituent Relations Assistant Director & EA to join her team in the 14th Legislative District. This role focuses on enhancing constituent relations and advancing the Assemblywoman's initiatives within the communities of Hamilton, Robbinsville, East Windsor, Hightstown, Monroe, Plainsboro, Jamesburg, and Cranbury. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of legislative processes, and a commitment to serving the public.
Key Responsibilities
Constituent Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for constituents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests for assistance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and local stakeholders.
Scheduling and Calendar Management
- Manage the Assemblywoman’s calendar: Schedule meetings, events, and appointments, ensuring optimal use of time.
- Prioritize scheduling requests based on urgency and relevance to the Assemblywoman’s legislative agenda.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, including venue selection, technology setup, and necessary materials.
Creating Constituent Outreach Events
- Design and coordinate outreach events to engage constituents and foster community involvement.
- Identify key issues and topics for discussion that resonate with the community and reflect the Assemblywoman's legislative priorities.
- Collaborate with local organizations to enhance event reach and participation.
Advancing the Assemblywoman at Events
- Actively represent Assemblywoman McCoy at community events, town halls, and public forums.- Collaborate with the Assemblywoman to plan and execute events that promote her legislative agenda and engage constituents.
- Ensure that the Assemblywoman's initiatives are highlighted and effectively communicated during events.
- Gather feedback from constituents at events to inform future legislative actions.
Legislative Support
- Assist the Assemblywoman in researching legislative issues relevant to the district.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations to support advocacy efforts.
- Coordinate with state agencies and local governments to address constituent needs and concerns.
Communications
- Manage correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and mail, ensuring timely responses to constituents.
- Draft newsletters, social media posts, and press releases to keep constituents informed about legislative updates and community events.
- Utilize tools like Canva and AI tools for creative content creation.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of constituent interactions and issues raised.
- Support the overall operations of the legislative office as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public services, advocacy, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of local government processes and the legislative landscape.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AI tools such aa Canva and social media platforms.
Pay: $50,000.00 per year
