Construction Accountant

As we expand our project portfolio in Qatar, we are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our team in Al Rayyan.

Position Overview
The Construction Accountant will be responsible for managing financial processes related to construction projects, including cost tracking, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate financial control across ongoing projects and supporting informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track construction project costs, budgets, and expenditures
• Prepare project cost reports, financial statements, and variance analyses
• Manage contractor invoices, progress billing, and payment certifications
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs across projects and cost centers
• Support budgeting and forecasting for construction activities
• Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and site teams on financial matters
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Support audits by providing required financial documentation and reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in construction accounting or project-based accounting
• Strong understanding of construction cost control and accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong communication and coordination skills
