Position Summary:

Ralls Construction is a Santa Clara–based commercial construction firm specializing in technically complex projects, including cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing facilities, and high-quality tenant improvements. We are known for our hands-on approach, strong field coordination, and commitment to delivering precise, schedule-driven results for our clients.

We are currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our management team across multiple commercial construction projects and general operations. This position is well-suited for a construction professional eager to develop into a full Project Manager role, offering exposure to all phases of project execution—from scope development and budgeting through construction and close-out.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Assist management team with day-to-day project coordination and documentation including preparation and maintenance of approved project setup folders.

· Update necessary tracking information to ensure the project status is maintained with complete accuracy.

· Help prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.

· Initiate and track submittals/samples, workplans, RFIs, change orders, and project logs.

· Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal field teams.

· Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for take-off, accuracy and completeness.

· Support procurement of materials and equipment including tracking and receiving of material orders and support distribution to project sites.

· Attend project meetings, site walks, and inspections as required.

· Assist with close-out documentation, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.

· Assist with general office operations and serve as an alternate point of contact to support various functions of the organization.

Essential skills and competencies

· 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction

· Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Attention to detail for accuracy and responsive with great follow-up.

· Self starter with a willingness to learn.

· Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Experience working with construction field / office setting.

· Professional and confident phone etiquette.

· Good written and oral communication skills.

· Must have valid driver license with good driving record.

· Be willing to submit to a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
