What You’ll Do
As our Construction Bookkeeping Client Manager, you’ll manage the financial health of a portfolio of construction clients nationwide.
Key responsibilities include:
· Manage a large portfolio of clients, each with unique projects and financial needs.
· Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, projects, and financial workflows which includes building familiarity with their job structures, billing processes, and reporting expectations
· Maintain strong organization while managing multiple clients at once
· Communicate confidently with clients and internal teams
· Anticipate client needs and proactively address financial questions
· Ensure the integrity of day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of construction clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation
· Collaborate with client to ensure budgets and financials are accurate and informative
· Responsible for specific financial tasks for clients that are more sensitive in nature (i.e. paying subcontractors, closing out projects, etc.)
· Knowledgeable in client job costing, project profitability tracking, and financial reporting
· Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients simultaneously
· Establish cadence for monthly client closeout which includes confirmation of financial accuracy and high-level financial discussion
· Responsible for client satisfaction through ongoing communication and meeting requirements
· Collaborate with internal team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality client service
· Ensure internal compliance with internal communication and collaboration with team
· Some travel may be required (1-3 weeks/year)
In this role, you won’t simply maintain books—you are a trusted financial partner to the clients you support.
Remote Work Environment
This position operates in a remote work environment where you will be required to work confidently and professionally from your home.
When working remotely, your home workspace functions as an extension of the office. This means:
· You are available and responsive during scheduled business hours
· You maintain a professional, distraction-free workspace
· You are accessible for calls, meetings, and collaboration with team members and clients
· Communication, responsiveness, and productivity are treated the same as if you were physically in the office
Working from home does not mean treating the workday differently than you would a position within an office. It is not intended for running errands, stepping out frequently, handling unrelated personal tasks, or expecting the workload to be lighter than a full workday. Team members are expected to remain focused, available, and engaged throughout the workday just as they would be in the office.

Experience & Skills
· 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
· 2+ years of QuickBooks Online experience
· 1+ years of direct client experience
· Experience with construction accounting, job costing, or project-based accounting preferred
· Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
Bonus Points If You Have
· Background in managing multiple clients in an accounting firm or worked for a multi-entity construction company
· Experience managing subcontractor requirements and payment expectations to ensure they show up on the job and are paid accurately and on time
· Expertise working in roles where your work directly represented a client to their customer requiring strong attention to accuracy, professionalism and customer experience
