Construction Concrete Finisher

Job Description

We are currently looking for a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in forming, finishing, and maintaining concrete surfaces for various construction projects. You'll play a crucial role in our mission to deliver aesthetically pleasing and durable structures, ensuring top-quality craftsmanship that adheres to all project specifications and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
• Set and align the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using a trowel, float, or screed.
• Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Produce rough concrete surfaces using broom and rough finishing techniques.
• Apply sealing and hardening components to cure surfaces.
• Install fixtures such as anchor bolts, steel plates, and door sills in freshly poured concrete.
• Perform mold construction and corner cutting duties.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or similar role.
• Ability to finish both vertical and flat concrete surfaces to a high standard
• Knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.).
• Familiarity with paving and smoothing tools (trowels, floats, screeds).
• Understanding of curing times and methods.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret structural layouts.
• Able to kneel for long periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' work experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
• Able to work shifts, at night and on public holidays required.
