Responsibilities

Oversee financial operations across development and construction accounting functions

Produce accurate monthly financial statements, project forecasts, and cash flow projections

Manage and collaborate with outsourced accounting teams and resources

Handle construction accounting functions including job costing, WIP schedules, progress billing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition

Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accurate reporting

Utilize construction ERP systems and modern accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency

Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning and internal controls

Maintain and improve accounting processes, operational workflows, and reporting accuracy

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies

Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience required

Direct experience working for a General Contractor with annual revenue volume between $50M–$200M required

Strong understanding of construction accounting practices including job costing and WIP reporting

Experience with progress billing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition

Highly proficient with construction accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or Procore

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience

Experience supporting executive finance leadership such as a VP of Finance or CFO

Experience managing outsourced accounting teams or shared resources

Experience within commercial or industrial construction environments

Strong understanding of financial forecasting and cash flow management
