Construction Controller / Senior Accountant

Signature Roofing is one of Idaho’s leading roofing contractors, specializing in commercial roofing, residential roofing, gutters, service work, and public works projects. We are seeking a highly organized Construction Controller / Senior Accountant to oversee the company’s accounting operations and provide accurate financial reporting to ownership.

Construction accounting experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in roofing, general contracting, electrical, mechanical, excavation, or other project-based construction industries are encouraged to apply. Experience with job costing and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll support, and general ledger activity.

• Manage job costing and profitability reporting for commercial and residential projects.

• Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.

• Monitor percentage-of-completion accounting and project financial performance.

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.

• Monitor cash flow and assist with forecasting.

• Manage vendor accounts and supplier reconciliations.

• Support commission calculations and reporting.

• Coordinate with outside CPA for tax preparation and year-end reporting.

• Improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.

• Assist ownership with financial analysis and business planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience.

• Construction accounting experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with job costing and WIP reporting.

• Strong understanding of financial statements and reporting.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

• Controller-level experience is a plus.

• Experience with project-based accounting environments preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
