Construction Designer / Estimator

Job Overview

Seaborn Construction & Remodeling is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Designer / Estimator to join our residential remodeling team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing residential remodeling concepts, preparing design layouts and selections, and creating accurate project estimates for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations.

You will work closely with homeowners, project managers, trade partners, and field teams to help transform ideas into practical, buildable, and beautifully designed living spaces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine design creativity with project planning and budgeting while contributing to high-quality residential remodeling projects from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop residential remodeling designs, layouts, and conceptual plans using CAD and design software
• Create schematic drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings to communicate project vision and design intent
• Prepare detailed project estimates by analyzing labor, materials, subcontractor pricing, and project scope
• Perform quantity take-offs and budgeting for remodeling and construction projects
• Collaborate with homeowners to guide design decisions, finish selections, and overall project direction
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with project budgets
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and field conditions
• Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and procurement planning
• Ensure designs and plans comply with residential building codes and construction standards
• Support material selections including cabinetry, tile, flooring, fixtures, lighting, paint, countertops, and hardware
• Maintain organized project documentation including drawings, estimates, selections, and revisions

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential remodeling design, estimating, interior design, or residential construction
• Proficiency with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, Revit, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, remodeling processes, and design principles
• Ability to create and interpret floor plans, elevations, renderings, and construction drawings
• Experience preparing project estimates, quantity take-offs, and budgeting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and client presentation abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with homeowners, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
• Knowledge of kitchen, bathroom, basement, and home addition design preferred
• Familiarity with material selections, finish coordination, and residential building codes is a plus

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
