Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Counter Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a welcoming environment. This role is essential in ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting the overall operations of our retail establishment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean and organized counter area, ensuring products are displayed attractively.
• Assist in supervising junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits.
• Utilize retail math skills to assist with inventory management and sales tracking.
• Answer phone calls professionally, addressing customer queries or directing them to appropriate staff members.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance the customer experience.

Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and cash registers.
• Solid cash handling skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
• Strong understanding of retail math concepts for effective inventory management.
• Excellent phone etiquette for professional communication with customers.
• Ability to conduct engaging product demos that encourage sales.
• A proactive approach to sales, with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
