ABOUT MERCHANT DEMOLITION
Merchant Demolition has been serving the Denver front-range market since 1997, serving residential and commercial general contractors, commercial real estate brokers, property managers and architects. We are experts in: specialized demolition, demolition for tenant finish whitebox, selective structural demolition, residential demolition, commercial demolition, floor grinding, concrete removal, and 1-story residential tear-downs.
Our office is located in Lakewood, Colorado with projects all around the Denver metro area.
POSITION SUMMARY
As Estimator for Merchant Demolition, you will prepare cost estimates for competitive bidding at the request of our client base. You will work closely with a Project Manager to oversee accurate completion of the scope of work. This position is responsible for determining quantities and take-offs, preparing accurate and complete job estimates, organizing job details and communicating job scope of work details to production team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Procure client requests for cost estimating
- Meet with perspective clients at onsite meetings (as required)
- Client care and negotiations
- Prepare detailed estimates from blueprints and related specifications
- Complete estimates to ensure company profit targets are met.
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements for projects
- Communicate budgets and deadlines for Project Managers prior to job start
- Hold Project Manager accountable for profitability margins and client expectations
- Identify corrective measures to continuously improve the accuracy of cost figures
- Conduct occasional on-site inspection of projects
- Prepare invoice requests as work is completed
- Maintain a cost data base by phase of current competitive market and evaluate quarterly
- Continuously evaluate estimates for accuracy and profitability to maintain competitive cost data
- Review costing and profitability of completed jobs and present summary to Executive Team on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
- Assist in detailed analysis where execution (manhours) and profitability fall short of company goals
- Follow up at job completion with client to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist marketing efforts by seeking opportunities for signage and advertising
- Maintain technical knowledge of demolition and construction
- Attend all required management and team meetings

- Daily attendance for work, as workload demands – (40+ hours / Nights & Weekends)
- Assist with job scheduling, manpower and resources based on Client’s needs and company availability
- Clean MVR and ability to qualify as company driver
- Clean background check
- Highly proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) as well as Dropbox and Bluebeam

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years in construction and/or demolition
- Construction and/or Demolition Estimating and Project Management Skills
- Proven leadership and relational abilities
- Comprehensive mathematical skills
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
POSITION EXPECTATIONS
- a. Hours per week: 40-60
- b. Job Classification: Full-Time
- c. Requirements: Valid Driver’s License, Background Check
- d. Benefits: 6 paid holidays after 90 days; 2-weeks vacation after 90 days, 401(k) options plus 4% company match after 1-year, Dental and Vision options, access to Company Vehicle if approved driver
- e. Salary Base Starting $60K per year, with uncapped commission

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
