Construction Foreman, Equipment Operator & Laborer

Banton Construction is an established mid-sized general contracting firm based in Connecticut.

We are seeking to immediately hire an experienced Construction Foreman that will serve as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Laborer, CDL Driver, and Mechanic. The foreman will lead and supervise our project team on an active rail project that is currently underway in Darien, CT. The foreman will serve in all roles stated above during their employment.

We are also seeking experienced Equipment Operators and motivated Laborers that are seeking to gain experience in the construction industry.

The ideal candidate must be an individual with demonstrated civil construction experience and meet the following requirements:

• Participate in a FRA Regulated Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, including a pre-employment drug screening.
• Hold a CDL Class A License (preferred)
• Experience operating excavators, skid steers, lulls, & backhoes
• Experience as laborer/driver in heavy civil construction
• Ability to maintain & service equipment and machinery
• Ability to perform light maintenance
• Familiarity with CT DOT projects and/or Railroad experience is a plus
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and execute project initiatives
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inspections, tests and documentation
• Proficiency in using relevant tools
• Strong analytical skills, management and communication skills
• Positive attitude

Prevailing wage rates apply. Hourly pay ranges vary depending on the work classification and include a fringe benefit package. Please note: the fringe benefit portion is deposited into a separate 401k account that is set up for each employee.
