Construction Inspector – Public Works / Heavy Civil

Green Valley Consulting Engineers is looking for experienced Construction Inspectors to join our team supporting public works infrastructure projects throughout the North Bay region.

We work on roadway, paving, underground utility, drainage, and heavy civil improvement projects for local public agencies, and we’re particularly interested in inspectors with strong paving, grading, underground utility, or contractor-side field experience.

This is a field role for someone who knows construction, communicates well, and takes pride in ensuring public works projects are built right, safely, efficiently, and to spec.

Responsibilities

·        Inspect public works construction for quality, safety, and compliance with plans/specifications

·        Coordinate with contractors, agency staff, and project managers in the field

·        Prepare daily reports, track quantities, and document project progress

·        Assist with RFIs, change orders, pay estimates, and project closeout support

·        Help solve field issues and keep projects moving efficiently

What We’re Looking For

·        Experience in heavy civil, paving, underground utilities, roadway, or public infrastructure construction

·        Ability to read plans/specifications and understand construction sequences

·        Strong communication and documentation skills

·        Knowledge of public agency, Caltrans and MUTCD specifications and construction processes

·        ICC, ACI, QSP/QSD, or related certifications are a plus
