Spotts, Stevens and McCoy is currently seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support the construction of complex water treatment facilities. This is a senior-level field position for a detail-driven professional with deep experience across site/civil, structural, process mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems. Responsibilities
- Provide on-site inspection and oversight for water treatment facility construction projects.
- Verify contractor work for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes.
- Monitor and document construction activities across disciplines including site/civil, structural, process mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and I&C systems.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, quantity tracking, photo logs, RFIs, and progress documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners to address field issues and keep projects moving forward and participate in progress meetings.
- Support QA/QC processes including material inspections, testing coordination, and verification of installations.
- Promote jobsite safety and proactively identify risks, deficiencies, or non-conforming work.
- Utilize digital tools such as Microsoft Office for reporting and communication.
Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering preferred.
- Experience implementing QA/QC programs and construction safety standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 5 years of senior-level inspection experience on water treatment facility projects.
- Certifications such as CCM, PMP, DBIA, NICET, or state-specific inspection credentials.
- Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Experience managing project documentation, reporting, and coordination across multiple disciplines.
This position is based out of our Reading PA office; however, there may be flexibility for a hybrid-remote work model.
