Construction Laborer

The Luna Crew, LLC is looking for a Laborer to join our team located in Snowflake, AZ!

The Laborer is responsible for general construction labor typically seen on a concrete or metal building jobsite.

Schedule:

We are looking for full-time employees to work Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends .

Job Details:

The Luna Crew, LLC specializes in concrete construction and metal building erection. As a general construction laborer, you will be required to assist with all aspects of our projects. Projects are located throughout Northeast Arizona; out of town travel will be required on occasion.

Some of the main responsibilities are as follows:

Concrete Projects:

Responsible for assisting in the construction of high quality concrete footers, sidewalks, monolithic foundations and other flatwork from start to finish including:

  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes
  • Position and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete.
  • Use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines and hand tools.
  • Responsible for setting the concrete forms, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch
  • Spread concrete to the specified depth using a concrete vibrator or hand tools
  • Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed
  • Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete or pattern or stamp the surface to provide a decorative finish.
  • Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel, broom, or hand trowel
  • Remove rough or defective spots from concrete with abrasive stone or grinder and then create a textured or broomed finished surface
  • Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
  • Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies
  • Work with buckets and pump truck to place concrete

Metal Building Erections

  • Read specifications or blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required.
  • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
  • Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
  • Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as needed.
  • Layout of girts, purlins, clips and other structural pieces as required for a complete assembly of metal building
  • Raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures, structural frameworks or prefabricated metal buildings.
  • Apply caulking compounds by hand or caulking guns to protect against entry of water or air. General Duties for All Projects
  • Clean, inspect and perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, machinery, and tools
  • Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
  • Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps, or other temporary structures.
  • Safely and efficiently operate and use associated tools and equipment
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned to support completion of project
  • Experience operating general site equipment
  • Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Two years of relative experience preferred

Physical Demands and Job Conditions

  • Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 80lbs) standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
  • Work is performed within the "red zone" of heavy equipment
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Work will not be in one consistent location, travel will be required.
  • Must have your own transportation.
