Position Overview

The Sealcoat Laborer is a key member of the sealcoat crew, responsible for performing the hands-on tasks required to maintain and protect pavement surfaces. Working under the direction of the Sealcoat Foreman, the laborer ensures that site preparation, material application, and cleanup are completed efficiently and to company quality standards. This role requires a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a commitment to safe field operations.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Execution

  • Perform manual labor tasks including site preparation, sweeping, and debris removal.
  • Assist in the application of sealcoat materials and crack filling.
  • Help with jobsite organization and thorough cleanup once work is completed.
  • Operate basic hand tools and assist in the use of trucks and equipment required for operations.

Safety & Teamwork

  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of work and follow company safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude, contributing to a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Follow instructions from the Foreman and complete assigned tasks based on job requirements.
  • Support the training and onboarding of fellow crew members as needed.

Coordination & Reliability

  • Ensure timely arrival at the shop or jobsite, prepared for scheduled work.
  • Communicate any field issues, equipment needs, or safety concerns to the Foreman immediately.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pavement maintenance or general construction preferred
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license required, CDL Class A is a plus
  • Relatively clean motor vehicle record
    • Applicants with drug or alcohol driving offenses in the last five years will not be considered
    • Other violations evaluated per insurance standards
  • Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including weekends
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor in varying outdoor weather conditions
