Construction Laborer/Helper

Summary

We are seeking a Construction Laborer/Helper to join our team at MTU Services. This role is essential in supporting our construction projects, contributing to the overall success of our operations while gaining valuable experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operations of construction sites, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently based on each Work Order.
• Support skilled tradespeople by providing tools and materials as needed.
• Help maintain a clean and organized work environment for safety compliance.
• Participate in project setup and teardown activities as required.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to team efforts effectively.
• Be able to work in a variety of construction environments and weather, including stooping, lifting, bending, kneeling, throughout the day and for extended periods of time

Requirements

• Show up on time and according to the work schedule
• Ability to travel out of town, periodically, when needed for customer projects
• Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable for MTU customer vehicles
• Must be able to pass a drug screening to be able to work with our customer base
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
• Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices is a plus but not required.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and write English so that Work orders, customer projects, and safety requirements of project details can be communicated clearly
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pound bags of concrete, mortar, rock, shovels of dirt, and be able to work in crawl spaces of varying sizes and depths

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
