Position Overview

Mash Construction LLC is seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Management Intern to assist with residential new construction and remodeling projects throughout the Greater New Orleans area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction management student, architecture student, or individual pursuing a career in residential construction, project management, or real estate development. The intern will work directly with ownership and gain hands-on experience managing active residential construction projects in the field.

This role is ideal for someone who wants real-world experience beyond a desk job and is eager to learn how residential construction projects are actually managed day-to-day.

Responsibilities

The Construction Management Intern will assist with:

• Visiting active residential construction and remodeling job sites
• Coordinating and communicating with subcontractors and suppliers
• Assisting with project scheduling and daily workflow management
• Monitoring job progress and reporting updates to ownership
• Ensuring job sites remain clean, organized, and professional
• Verifying subcontractors are completing work according to plans and expectations
• Creating punch lists and tracking incomplete items
• Assisting with material deliveries and logistics coordination
• Taking site photos/videos and maintaining project documentation
• Helping maintain quality control and job site safety standards
• Serving as a field representative for Mash Construction projects

• Construction Management
• Architecture
• Engineering
• Interior Design
• Related construction field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Ability to problem solve and work independently
• Comfortable working outdoors and visiting active construction sites
• Basic understanding of construction terminology and tools preferred
• Reliable transportation is required
• Ability to use smartphones, email, Google Sheets, and basic project management apps

No extensive experience required — we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software
• Support project teams with cost estimating, budgeting, and procurement activities utilizing construction estimating tools
• Coordinate daily activities on construction sites, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications
• Contribute to the review and management of contracts, change orders, and project documentation
• Use Bluebeam or equivalent software for document review, markups, and plan revisions
• Track project progress through regular site visits, inspections, and progress reports
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Support project managers with time management tasks to keep projects on schedule and within scope

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, HeavyBid, or similar tools
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes and contract administration
• Prior experience or internship on construction sites is highly desirable
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Excellent communication skills for effective project coordination and teamwork
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to construction sites
