Construction Manager

Azierta LLC, a premier engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of complex transportation and infrastructure projects in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

**This is a long-term position requiring availability of 4 to 8 hours per day.

We are looking for a strategic leader who combines hands-on construction management experience with strong contract administration, scheduling, and quality control skills. This is a critical role ensuring project execution aligns with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

-Construction Oversight: Manage day-to-day construction activities for infrastructure projects (bridges, highways, drainage, coastal, etc.), ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and safety standards.
-Contract Administration: Oversee A&E and construction contracts, including change orders, claims management, and subconsultant coordination.
-Scheduling & Budget Control: Monitor project schedules (CPM, Primavera P6, MS Project), track progress against milestones, and control costs to stay within budget.
-Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement and enforce rigorous QC/QA protocols across all construction phases, including material testing, inspection reports, and punch list management.
-Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between design teams, contractors, government agencies (DDOT, WMATA, etc.), and client representatives.
-Permitting & Compliance: Ensure all necessary permits (environmental, right‑of‑way, utility relocations) are obtained and maintained throughout construction.

Job Requirements

Licenses or Certifications: Must hold:
- Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington, D.C. (or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity within three months), OR a project management certification (e.g., CCM, PMP with a specialization in civil engineering) AND at least five years of documented project management experience in the Washington, D.C. area.
-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
-Experience: Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience preferred in transportation/infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, or coastal structures).
-Local Knowledge: Familiarity with DDOT (District Department of Transportation) standards, permitting processes, and local codes.
-Software Proficiency: MS Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and project management tools (Trello, ClickUp, or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

-Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or PMP certification.
-Experience with alternative delivery methods (design‑build, CMAR, P3).
-Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
-Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
