For over 40 years, the Randolph County Housing Authority (RCHA) has been a leader in building stronger communities in North Central West Virginia. We provide a wide range of services including rental assistance, workforce development, youth programs, and affordable housing.

Our YouthBuild Program helps young adults ages 16–24 who are out of school gain job skills, complete their education, and build a better future. Youth choose one of three pathways: Construction, MedPrep, or Certified Maintenance Technician.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Construction Supervisor to lead and train young people in our YouthBuild Construction and Maintenance Pathways. You’ll supervise hands-on construction projects, teach essential building skills, and serve as a mentor and role model to youth working toward their high school equivalency and industry certifications.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced builder who is passionate about both construction and youth development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train youth (ages 16–24) on real construction projects
  • Teach hands-on skills: framing, drywall, roofing, finish work, plumbing, electrical, painting, and more
  • Lead daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA-compliant practices
  • Support students in earning PACT certifications
  • Develop construction schedules and manage project budgets
  • Help evaluate student progress with YouthBuild staff
  • Represent RCHA professionally with contractors, partners, and the community
  • Recruit and coordinate with local contractors as needed
  • Assist with RCHA development projects (new builds, rehabs, etc.)

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of residential construction experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory or crew lead experience
  • Knowledge of local/state building codes
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid driver's license (WV) and clean driving record
  • Must pass background check

Preferred:

  • Experience working with youth or opportunity youth
  • Familiarity with project management software
