Job Title: Construction Manager – High-Rise Building
Reports To: Project Director / Project Manager
Job Summary
The Construction Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all construction activities related to high-rise building projects. The role ensures that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, contractual requirements, and local regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Manage day-to-day construction activities for high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Develop and implement construction schedules, work plans, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Site Management
- Supervise site teams, including engineers, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Ensure efficient utilization of labor, materials, equipment, and machinery.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Resolve technical and operational issues arising during construction.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce site safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures.
Quality Control
- Ensure construction activities meet project quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Review and approve method statements, inspection requests, and quality documentation.
- Address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
Cost & Budget Management
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Review subcontractor progress and payment applications.
- Identify potential cost overruns and recommend mitigation measures.
- Assist in change order and variation management.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and contractors.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Coordinate approvals, permits, and inspections with relevant authorities.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Track project KPIs, productivity, and milestones.
- Maintain project documentation and records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional certification (PMP, CCM, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Valid professional engineering registration where applicable.
Experience Requirements
- 10–15+ years of construction experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a Construction Manager role on high-rise building projects.
- Proven experience managing projects of 20+ floors or large-scale tower developments.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete structures, façade systems, MEP coordination, and finishing works.
