Construction Owner’s Representative-Contract Position
With an exclusive contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, we are seeking an experienced construction owner’s representative who will be located at the Shreveport VA hospital assisting the VA engineer in managing hospital construction projects. This position is an hourly contract position with a maximum of 40 hours a week. The contract is for one year with possible one-year extensions. The candidate must be a United States Citizen to work on this federal property.
Position Requirements:
To succeed in this impactful role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Experience in Construction Projects: Prior supervision experience at least 10 yrs with construction degree in construction. Or 15 years experience without a degree.
- Ability to Read Plans and Specifications.
- Ability to Read Construction Schedules.
- Excellent Organizational and Communication Skills: Your ability to coordinate and communicate effectively is essential.
- Maintain Daily Construction Reports

Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate project execution.
- Oversee project scheduling using tools such as Primavera P6 to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Review contracts and blueprints to ensure all specifications are met.
- Utilize construction management software like ProCore and Bluebeam for project documentation and communication.
- Prepare detailed construction estimates and manage project budgets effectively.
- Ensure effective project coordination among various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, changes, and issues that arise during construction.
