Construction Manager: Work Location: Los Angeles, CA
PMCS Group has a future opportunity for a construction manager to oversee the construction of a convention event center. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Job Duties:

Administer the construction contract on-site. Oversee day-to-day construction management activities such as processing RFIs (Requests for Information), reviewing shop drawings/submittals and plan clarifications, reviewing as-built drawings, processing and negotiating change orders, dispute resolution, meeting coordination, final project close-out.

Serve as the principal interface between the Contractor/developer, the Lead Inspector/Inspection team, and management

Monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance with contract plans/specifications, schedule, budget, quality, and applicable codes.

Oversee or supervise the final project close-out process: punch-list completion, as-built documentation, contractor final payment, contract file close-out.

Maintain communication and coordination across disciplines (engineering, inspection, quality assurance/quality control, safety, contract administration, schedule management).

Often manage or coordinate multiple stakeholder interfaces: contractors/subcontractors, city agencies, design team, inspectors, external authorities (especially for public works).

Prepare or review reports on project status: schedule progress, cost or change orders, risk management, documentation of issues/mitigation.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible construction/project management experience

Experience managing hospitality/conference/event centers, or similar facilities.

Experience with design-build projects

Strong communication and coordination skills. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
-
Knowledgeable with City of LA Department of Building and Safety applicable building codes, safety standards, public works standards.

Working experience with City of LA Bureau of Engineering A and B Permits

DBIA Certification and/or PE License
