Purchasing Assistant – Construction Materials
Position Overview:
Division 10 Sales is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing Manager in sourcing competitive material quotes for commercial construction projects. This role plays a key part in our bidding and estimating process by ensuring that our material pricing is accurate, competitive, and aligned with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Sourcing: Identify and contact suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers to obtain competitive pricing and availability on specified materials for construction bids.
- Quote Management: Request, track, and organize material quotes to ensure timely submission for bid deadlines.
- Vendor Communication: Build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure prompt responses and favorable terms.
- Data Entry & Organization: Input pricing data, vendor details, and material information into estimating or purchasing systems accurately.
- Document Review: Assist in reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents to verify material requirements.
- Comparative Analysis: Compile and analyze quotes to identify the most cost-effective and reliable sources.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Purchasing Manager, Estimators, and Project Managers to ensure materials align with project budgets and scope.
- Follow-Up: Track quote requests and follow up with vendors to ensure all required information is received on schedule.
Qualifications:
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, estimating, or construction administration preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction materials, Division 10 specialties, or building products a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Etc. (experience with estimating or purchasing software is a plus).
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple quotes simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with a professional, team-oriented attitude.

Base Pay: From $20.00 per hour
