Construction Materials Technician - Entry Level OR Experienced (ACI Certified)

STL Engineers is seeking motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians. This position is open to both entry-level candidates looking to start a career in construction testing and experienced technicians seeking long-term growth.

As a CMT Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of construction materials used on active job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials including concrete, soils, asphalt, and masonry
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications, plans, and applicable codes
• Monitor concrete placements, soil compaction, and other critical construction activities
• Collect, document, and report accurate test results in a timely manner
• Communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and internal team members
• Identify non-conforming work and report issues in accordance with QA/QC procedures
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper testing methods are followed

Entry-Level Candidates:

• Interest in construction, engineering, or materials testing
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willingness to obtain certifications (ACI, NICET, TxDOT, etc.)

Experienced Candidates:

• Prior experience in construction materials testing or inspection
• Active certifications (ACI Field Grade I preferred)
• Familiarity with soils, concrete, and compaction testing procedures
• Strong documentation and reporting skills

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
