Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician

Position: Construction Material Testing (CMT) Technician

Position Description: Entry-level position, 0-5 years experience, High School diploma or GED required. Daily local travel and occasional out of town travel required.

We are hiring a dependable CMT Technician to perform field testing on construction sites. This role focuses on soil compaction testing, DCP testing, and field documentation for civil engineering projects.

Position Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Class D driver's license and pass pre-employment background check and drug screen

Typical Responsibilities:
Complete standard laboratory testing

Complete field testing and relay results to Project Manager and contractors.

Maintain equipment and calibrations.

Data management, including daily field reports, boring plans, photo logs, etc.

Work in a variety of conditions, including loud areas, outdoors, office settings, and transport

Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds repeatedly for 1/2 to all of daily hours

Maintain communication logs for project manager and BD support

Reports to: President, Vice President, Project Manager, or Project Engineer as appropriate

Supervises: May supervise interns or other engineering technicians, depending on experience

Metrics: Minimum Training Hours per quarter for growth
Minimum Billable Time 90%
Complete Assigned quarterly Rocks
Quantifiable Skills (tests and certs) per quarter for growth
MnDOT, ACI, ICC, and other training certifications

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
