Job Summary

Diablo Roofing Inc. is a growing commercial roofing contractor in the Bay Area. We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to support projects from pre-construction through closeout.

This key role works closely with Project Managers, Production teams, and field crews to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor schedules while overseeing multiple roofing projects simultaneously
• Prepare and submit project submittals, including:
• Shop drawings
• Material data
• Product data
• Samples
• Shop drawings
• Support the Project Manager through all phases of construction
• Maintain accurate project documentation and system updates
• Troubleshoot field issues and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with roofing technicians and crews on job scope, schedule, and timeline
• Prepare weekly project reports for management
• Participate in estimating tasks as needed
• Coordinate with customers at project close-out to ensure satisfaction
• Perform site visits, including roof access via ladders and lifts as needed

Mandatory Qualifications

• Experience in a construction-related role with responsibilities in:
• Project engineering
• Project coordination
• Estimating
• Production management
• Produce shop drawings
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Excellent customer service ability
• Comfortable with field visits at height (roof access via ladder or lift)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for shop drawings
• Experience preparing and managing construction submittals

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial roofing experience
• Experience handling multiple jobs across different sites
• Construction estimating experience
• Knowledge of commercial roofing systems and materials
